I ordered this fabric and it was in the centre of a roll of other fabrics including the lining so I never saw it until it arrived today from the makers as complete curtains, all hung by Tom Silcock in Wellington. It's glorious! Rich and honeylike and the contrast between the pattern and the base is quite subtle. The substrate fabric is creamy and rich while also being quite coarse, in the best way. I am so in love and wish I had a huge, elegant Georgian reception room to have had floor to ceiling drapes in it. The colour is far more sweetcorn gold and sheeny than the photo but I would never have bought it without a swatch if this had been an issue for me, and Martha's are always amazingly helpful with swatches.
Its very yellow, much brighter than i was expecting
